    Racha Arodaky was trained in the Russian school of Malinin and Bashkirov then in the subtle interpretative style of Murray Perahia. After the poetic worlds of Mendelssohn (2001) and Scriabin (2003), she now tackles the universe of Domenico Scarlatti: always with the same taste for the miniature, for grasping the musical instant, presenting the full diversity of human feelings, and always with the same 'quivering sensibility' which made her Scriabin such a success. Racha Arodaky offers us 'an exemplary and welcome survey of Scarlatti's corpus of sonatas, featuring a selection of pieces which admirably reflect the fancy, the imagination and the "bizzarria stravagante" of their creator', writes the Scarlatti specialist Francesco Tasini.The Eagle - as his father Alessandro Scarlatti called him - succeeded in asserting the importance of the harpsichord school of Naples through a felicitous synthesis between the impetuous and essagerato Neapolitan manner and the typically Venetian cantabile style. Scarlatti was clearly interested by the introduction of the pianoforte, which was capable of 'expressing the full range of human sentiments', as Casini - composer of the Pensieri per l'organo in partitura (Florence, 1714) - put it in 1707. Racha Arodaky continues this approach without fear of taboos by giving us 'her' selection of sonatas on a Steinway grand piano . . . The poetry and the magic still function perfectly, demonstrating that this music can also break free from the idiomatic interpretation period instruments can bring it.
