From the beginning: do any of you know Planxty? No? Uuuufff, lost half of its existence.
I'm the No. 1 Planxty fan, the irish supergroup that hasn't yet been overcome, in my opinion. To tell the "barbaric" that I'll give you a couple of reasons, namely:
When I first heard was a radio of my country (incidentally bless them!). It was precisely this that I present "The black album" as it is known in the irish music circuit.
It is the first published in 1973.
The start of this album is already promising "Raggle Taggle Gypsy," a mandolin played by Andy Irvine and an irish bouzouki hit by Dónal Lunny, both in counterpoint, an apparent disorder and improvisation, both in different languages but are only one, to this is added the privileged voice of Christy Moore (one voice to another level that is wrong is confused with that of Ralph McTell), this prelude is accompanied minutes later with Christy's guitar and the great uileann pipe of Liam O'Flynn. The best song you listened to music, I recommend listening through and through and can understand what the hell I mean. Besides being completely acoustic, without electricity or anything that is plugged.
Several things: the bouzouki is originally greek and in fact this group was a pioneer in using it, better still, subsequently adapted to irish music. If you listen to arrest the album, the duets on mandolin and never scales are strummed, plectrum only tap. For example, in "The Blacksmith", Andy Irvine, while singing is followed by tapping his mandolin Dónal. Seeing them live is a delicious and virtuous performance. In countless Youtube videos circulating their first time.
Summing up, two excellent singers, Christy with a deep record and Andy, with the classic voice of irish peasant. Christy plays guitar properly. The master of irish bagpipes, Liam O'Flynn presentation doesn't require leaving great school. I think Planxty has made a rod as high as far as irish music is concerned, it's very difficult to overcome that. They're pioneers, teachers how to interpret his music. They took the world of Irish music and Celtic music accordingly and if I could draw a parallel would put at the height of The Beatles, I don't think that is saying a lot.
All four are one. Long live the Planxty! And tell me otherwise.
Ah! The dials, get the originals of my CD and LP Shanachie; apart, let me reset the original edition Polydor and covers for CD Fran Solo's Edition, indeed unprecedented.
    You're welcome.
