Released in 1978, this was to be the last album from Mose Jones, although there remains hope that the final album - recorded live - which is said to have truly caught what it was like to be at a Mose Jones gig - (i.e., their truly southern rock sound) - will one day be released. It is the first of 2 albums recorded by the second incarnation of Mose Jones…..

Mose Jones #2: Randy Lewis, Steve McRay, Marvin Taylor, Chris Seymour
    Label: RCA / BGO
Produced by Buddy Buie with Tad Bush

(the song "Alien", which the "Atlanta Rhythm Section" recorded and had a top 20 hit, was from the 2nd unreleased and un-titled Mose Jones album).

"MOSE JONES has a lot of musical history surrounding the group and it’s members - from being one of THE Southern bands coming out of Atlanta in the 70’s to sign a major record contract (MCA/Sounds of the South), to introducing our manager and producer, Al Kooper (Blues Project - Blood, Sweat, & Tears) to a band named Lynyrd Skynyrd, which he signed to his label (MCA/Sounds of the South) and produced the band’s first and second records. Plus MOSE JONES opened concerts and played with just about everybody back in their day, including Lynyrd Skynyrd, Frank Zappa, Little Feat, Boz Scaggs, Doobie Brothers, Mother’s Finest, Eddie Money, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Dixie Dregs. Sea Level, Santana, Freddie King, Wet Willie, IF, Rory Gallagher, Molly Hatchet, Stillwater, Marshall Tucker Band, Iggy Pop, Kiki Dee, Charlie Daniels, Hydra, Hampton Grease Band, and the list goes on…"

Here's to the memory of Jimmy O'Neill and Randy Lewis, and to the continuing recovery of Bryan Cole.

    Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And never brought to mind ?
    Should auld acquaintance be forgot,
And days o' lang syne ?

    CHORUS:
For auld lang syne, my jo,
    For auld lang syne,
    We’ll tak a cup o’ kindness yet,
    For auld lang syne.
