Mathias Baumann Group - The World Is Coming Together (2019)

The Mathias Baumann Group is a seven-piece band project lead by German guitarist and composer Mathias Baumann. His music is a fusion of creative improvised Jazz and classical music with powerful harmonic and rhythmic colours. The instrumentation features a string and a rhythm section with musicians from different European countries:

The contemporary original compositions and the album title are inspired by cultural agglomeration and a growing international community and the need for more togetherness and peace in the world. The fifth track on the album is Mathias’ arrangement of Wayne Shorter’s ‘Infant Eyes’. The fourth track is an intro Mathias composed for ‘Infant Eyes’.

The music for the album was written in 2012 and 2013 and recorded in 2014 at Tuscany Soundz Studios, Dublin.
It marks the starting point for a worldwide peace project, also entitled 'The World Is Coming Together'. However, that name was going to change.
In 2019 Mathias forms 'Art Inspire Music', a social enterprise which specializes in intercultural global collaborative art and music projects.
Through ‘Art Inspire Music’ he initiates and conducts the global art-music peace project ‘Puzzle For Peace’.
