Manfred Mann were a British beat, rhythm and blues and pop band (with a strong jazz foundation) of the 1960s, named after their South African keyboardist, Manfred Mann, who later led the successful 1970s group Manfred Mann's Earth Band. Manfred Mann were chart regulars in the 1960s, and the first south-of-England-based group to top the US Billboard Hot 100 during the British invasion. Warner Music Japan is thrilled to announce the release of the first three records in conjunction with Parlophone Records.

1965’s punningly titled My Little Red Book of Winners is one of Manfred Mann’s most eclectic efforts, with the band stretching out into more sophisticated musical territory on “My Little Red Book,” their historic collaboration with Burt Bacharach. They also deliver memorable original compositions like the autobiographical “The One in the Middle,” and indelible readings of classic tunes by Bob Dylan, the Coasters and Maxine Brown.

Mann Made is the second studio album by British beat/R&B group Manfred Mann, released by His Master's Voice in October 1965. The same title was used for their fourth US album and their third Canadian album. The US version on Ascot, released 5 November 1965, featured the same tracks and sequence as the UK album. The Canadian album, released by Capitol on 6 June 1966, replaced "I Really Do Believe" and "Hi-Lili Hi-Lo" with "She Needs Company" and the hit single "Pretty Flamingo".

There were fewer R&B songs on Mann Made than on The Five Faces of Manfred Mann and more pop. Mike Vickers and Paul Jones would leave the group after this album.

The full genius of Manfred Mann in all its early glory – a wonderful mix of different roots, mod instrumentation, and groovy expression – all perfectly balanced between the tighter sound of the charts and some of the bigger 60s experimentation to come! We love the different flavors of the tunes here – from the vibes used at key jazzy moments by drummer Mike Hugg, to the soulful alto and flute of Mike Vickers – who really seems to be helping the group shape their sound here – to Manfred Mann's own smoking Hammond, which is really rising as a powerful force! The flamingo may be pretty, but the group here is nice and raw – on the last full album to feature the original lineup of Manfred Mann in all its smoking mod glory! Even the familiar title hit takes on a bit of a garagey groove – and other tunes show the group's continuing love of deep American roots – served up in a blend of soul, jazz, and R&B that was right out front of the best of the mod generation in the UK! Titles include an incredible take on the Oscar Brown/Max Roach tune "Driver Man" – plus "Stay Around", "Machine", "It's Getting Late", "I Put A Spell On You", "You're Standing By", "Let's Go Get Stoned", and "Pretty Flamingo".
