July 1968 – when it rose from the defunct Yardbirds – through John Bonham's death c. September 1980 and the band's split three months later. Utilizing interviews, flashbacks and electrifying performance footage, the film highlights each of the band's EPs – from 1969's Led Zeppelin through 1979's In Through the Out Door – and the innumerable triumphs in-between. Moreover, the film provides one of the most deep and comprehensive analyses of Zeppelin's musical style to date, and rearranges a number of the band's key tracks for piano and string quartet.
