    Karl Strømme's revolutionary musical approach involves playing an analog synthesizer in tandem with the trumpet. 'Dynalyd' features a classic line-up of trumpet (flugelhorn), tenor saxophone, double bass, guitar and drums.

    Strømme's beautiful compositions are inspired by the Norwegian landscape and the band's respect for the modern jazz tradition is mixed with references and influences from other musical styles. A must-have album for fans of Tord Gustavsen Trio, Jan Garbarek, Esbjörn Svensson Trio and Lars Danielsson.

    Being at the very heart of the vibrant Nordic jazz scene, what sets the Karl Strømme Quintet apart from their contemporaries is the way their respect for the modern melodic jazz tradition is mixed with references and experiences from other musical styles, giving their music a fresh and exciting edge. Inspired by the likes of Chet Baker, Miles Davis and Kenny Wheeler, band leader and trumpeter Karl Strømme gives the music a unique flavour with the use of an analog synthesizerr which he plays in tandem with the trumpet, and in his words 'gives simpler but stronger melodic lines when improvising - like painting with a broader paintbrush'.
