    Houria Aïchi, rendue célèbre pour son interprétation des chants de l'Aurès, revisite aujourd'hui le répertoire sacré de son pays. Elle a collecté ici et là des joyaux populaires qui racontent Saints et rites rythmant le quotidien.

    "La collecte de ces titres, explique la chanteuse, s'est faite au gré de rencontres avec des gens de mon pays qui ont bien voulu simplement et généreusement y contribuer. L'idée directrice de ce projet a été de proposer un large éventail de chants, représentant le plus possible l'espace géographique et culturel algérien".

    Mais si Houria a pris soin de respecter la lettre, l’esprit est là aussi. De ces chants, elle a su saisir l’essence mystique et s’en imprégner, convoquant avec beaucoup de finesse et de précision la ferveur qui les a inspirés.
