Homesick James & Snooky Pryor - Sad And Lonesome (1980)

Snooky Pryor was one of the first, if not the first, blues harmonica player to amplify his harmonica. According to Wikipedia, he was a bugle player in the service during WWII and blew bugle calls through the camp PA as part of his duties. He got the idea that this would sound great with harmonica, as well, and began experimenting with it. He bought an amplifier when he got out of the service and introduced the sound to the Chicago blues scene. He passed away in 2006 at the age of 85.
Homesick James was a fine slide guitarist, singer and songwriter. Little is known about his life and he became much better known later in life than in his earlier career having outlived many of his more famous contemporaries. He passed away in 2006 at the age of 96.
