    French Harpsichordists of the XVII century - L.Couperin & J.-H.D'Anglebert by Alexei Lubimov

    Pianist and harpsichordist Alexei Lubimov was born in 1944 in Moscow. He received musical training at the Central School of Music (A. Artobolevskaya's class) and at the Moscow Conservatoire (class of Professor H. Neuhaus and L. Naumov). In 1965 he won the first prize at the International Competition of Pianists in Rio de Janeiro and in 1968 he became laureate of the international competition in Montreal. His repertoire is made up of early music, works by J. S. Bach, Vienna masters, Brahms and also 20th century music ranging from Scriabin and Debussy to Schoenberg and Webern. A. Lubimov often performs early music on original keyboard instruments.

    The "Facsimile" series contains recordings of musical works written in the 16th — early 19th centuries in their original sound. It concerns both the choice of instruments (old ones or their replicas), editing and performing devices of the epoch.
