Flattop Tom & his Jump Cats, is a versatile, energetic group of talented musicians dedicated to keeping Blues and Swing alive. This eight-piece band plays Blues, West Coast Jump Blues, Big Band Swing, Jump Jive, Boogie Woogie, Rockabilly, and 40s & 50s Rhythm & Blues. The band has been in existence since 1992. Flattop Tom is also a professional swing dancer and prides himself in keeping tempos right for dancers, but they're fun to watch and listen to, as well.Tom is known as one of the best harmonica players on the West Coast and has been sponsored by Hohner Harmonica since 1994. He has played in many harmonica battle shows and is a disciple of the late, great William Clarke.This CD, Jumpin Blues for Your Dancin Shoes, is the bands'first CD showcases one of the west coast's best swing and jump blues bands. It's an upbeat collection of 10 tunes, six of which are originals - and every one of them will make you want to tap your toes, snap your fingers, bob in rhythm, or just get up and dance!Flattop Tom & his Jump Cats have appeared at many top blues and swing venues in California such as House of Blues, BB King's, The Derby, Pasadena Ballroom Dance Association and Jonathan & Sylvia's in Santa Barbara. In addition, this band is enjoyed by audiences across the U.S. and in Europe.
