For Utopie I, Julien Palomo has appropriated the first 16 notes of a piece of Tusques (Gwerz Fanch Tusk) and modified them through its sequencers and modular synthesizers. The result obtained, a "drone" similar to those found in traditional music, allowed Fabien Robbe and Jerome Gloaguen to improvise freely.
In Utopie II, the duo revisits a piece by Tanguy Le Doré (companion, Tusques bassist and Diaouled Ar Menez): Gwerz for Jo Maka (Jo Maka saxophonist of the Intercommunal Free Dance Orchestra).
Orchestration and improvisation are not forbidden by what the actors know how to play, independently as collectively: these two narratives summon the long exploration sessions of the 1970s, as opposed to contemporary immediacy. An electronics, that some would describe as dated and yet infuse our era weary of polished products, clear lines of trumpet and electric piano or organ that come up against access to noise music, accents of Finistère and a polyrhythmic pulse.
