Giuseppe Di Stefano - Opera recital
    Classical-Opera | FLAC+CUE+Scans | 229MB | 1963

Some days ago I was looking for Di Stefano recordings and I found this album posted by leiliah on march of this year. Un fortunately links are broken; then I decide to buy it and I post this quirk again if somebody is interested too. Oh! Why I said quirk? Well you must agree with me that it is not usual to hear a tenore lirico singing roles like Verdi's Othello or Radames with enough and convincent dramatism, (perhaps because his "all'aperto" technic)… Oh! yes I know Pavarotti recorded Othello… mmm… It makes me love his voice yet more as Alfredo in Traviata ;)

    Giuseppe di Stefano, Tenor
Orchestra del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino Dirigent: Bruno Bartoletti

"His voice is of faultless beauty and remarkable expressive power; it possesses the velvety richness which we have not experienced since the days of Gigli and Lauri Volpi", wrote an eminent American critic in 1948 following Giuseppe Di Stefano's Metropolitan Opera debut. During the ensuing decades, this great artist ranked among the finest and most lionized tenors in the world. Here is his only opera recital recorded on Deutsche Grammophon.
