Christina Watson - So This Is Love (2018)

Christina Watson is a versatile vocalist and vocal coach based in Nashville, Tennessee. She performs a mix of genres, but she has always been enamored by America's only true art form: jazz. She brings her quartet of world-class musicians to events in Nashville and beyond.

Christina is the Jazz Voice Professor at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music, where she teaches private students and directs the Blair Jazz Choir. She also teaches private lessons at her home studio. Christina is on the faculty at the Nashville Jazz Workshop and directs the a cappella women's choir, The Nashville Belles. She has previously taught at other Nashville-area schools, including Belmont University, Trevecca University, and Hume-Fogg.

Christina first thought of teaching French as a career, so she earned her Bachelor’s Degree in French from Centre College and her Master’s Degree in French Literature from the University of TN, Knoxville, before deciding to follow her heart's path, which was music. She graduated from Boston’s Berklee College of Music in 2001 with a 4-year Professional Diploma in Vocal Performance (Magna Cum Laude) and went straight to Nashville to begin her life in music.

She performs jazz and other genres at public and private events, in concert halls, churches, clubs and at festivals. Christina sings lead and background vocals for sessions. She is the soprano in the 4-person vocal jazz group, 3rd Coast Vocals, and is a frequent guest performer with the Nashville Jazz Orchestra and the NJO Sextet. Christina has released 4 CDs as a solo artist and 1 with 3CV, and she was featured on the NJO's 2013 recording, "It Ain't Necessarily So." She has performed in Europe and Asia as well as in various parts of the US.
