The original Alice Cooper band broke up in 1974 after releasing seven great albums. The lead singer Vincent Furnier started his remarkable solo career in 1975 and he adopted Alice Cooper as his name. In 1977, three former members of the Alice Cooper band formed a band called Billion Dollar Babies. Michael Bruce, Dennis Dunaway and Neal Smith from the original Cooper band teamed up with the guitarist Mike Marconi and the keyboardist Bob Dolin, who had already played with Alice Cooper in their 1974 album Muscle of Love. The band borrowed their name from the very succesful 1973 album of Alice Cooper, Billion Dollar Babies. They released only one studio album and it was called Battle Axe.

This album is quite interesting for those who love the original Alice Cooper band. In my opinion, two songs really stand out in here. Those are "I Miss You" and the awesome title cut "Battle Axe". "I Miss You" is very interesting because Alice Cooper covered the song in the late 70's and the original version of the song is on this album. Rest of the songs are good and Ok stuff, but not so very special or great. Just typical rockers which aren't great, but not bad either. Overall this album is good, but it also seems that the remaining members of the Alice Cooper band were desperately trying to get back to the spotlight.
