Many actors read-out some "Canti" of Dante's Divina Commedia, but nobody did it like Carmelo Bene, moreover with accompaniment of Salvatore Sciarrino's "musique de scène"
After the 31 july 1981 many actors/players read-out some "Canti" of Dante's Divina Commedia,
but nobody did it like Carmelo Bene.
Moreover, Carmelo was the first, after Boccaccio's recitation seven undred years before (in Bologna's Santo Stefano church)
who recitated in public Dante's Divina Commedia.
In memory of the dreadful butchery at the Bologna's train station on August 2, 1980
"Lectura Dantis" was declaimed by Carmelo with complex amplification appliances
from the higher part of Bologna's "Torre degli asinelli",
not easily seen by more than 100.000 peoples in the square and streets around the towers.
Salvatore Sciarrino composed for this occasion the "musique de scène",
that was developed in 1987 in the chamber work "Sui poemi concentrici",
just shared here by d'Avignon
but nobody did it like Carmelo Bene.
