Air Supply is an Australian soft rock duo, consisting of British-born singer-songwriter and guitarist Graham Russell and lead vocalist Russell Hitchcock. They had a succession of hits worldwide, including eight Top Ten hits in the United States, in the early 1980s. They formed in Australia in 1975 and have included various accompanying musicians and singers. On 24 October 2013 the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) announced that Air Supply were to be inducted into their Hall of Fame on 1 December at the same ceremony as the annual ARIA Awards. On January 1, 2015, Air Supply marks on its 40th Anniversary.

Greatest Hits Live … Now and Forever is a live album by Australian soft rock band Air Supply released in 1995. The album was a massive success in Asia, where in China it topped the album charts for 16 weeks. It was recorded in Taipei, Taiwan, and later a DVD of the concert was released. The band played live with a 16 piece string section. Single "The Way I Feel" became a hit in Asia, and a difficult jewel among the band's songs. The Album sold 8 millions copies.

Air Supply are not known for their live shows, but 1996's Greatest Hits Live: Now & Forever wasn't designed as a showcase for their live act: it was designed as a way to give their new label, Warner, a collection of hits that were recorded for another label. With that in mind, the release of Greatest Hits Live seems logical, as it does serve the needs of at least one group and possibly two, as there will certainly be some devotees who find this an engaging album. And, to be fair, it's hardly a bad album: it's slick and professional, with Air Supply getting as close as possible to the studio recordings – they're a little cleaner and sparer, but the intent is clearly replication, not interpretation – never quite imbibing these renditions with the sense of spirited live performance. As these things go, it's not bad – it's pleasant, even – but it's not necessary.
