Viktor Ullmann - Der Kaiser von Atlantis

I had a weird association with the cover of Sgt. Pepper's when I saw the puppet theatre of notorious persons on the box front.
It must have taken some nerve for Ullman, prisoner in Theresienstadt, to compose this highly satyrical piece about the uselessness of war and the ones who start them. Alright, it wasn't performed in that camp.
Chilling comment by personified Death: "I can't keep up anymore"….we all understand the horrible implications of these words.
