One World, One Voice was a charity collaboration project conceived by Kevin Godley (of 10cc), released on CD in the UK. Godley recorded the music by going all over the world and have one continuous "chain tape". There is all kinds of different musical styles and they all blend in with each other. The album features Sting, Godley & Creme, Laurie Anderson, The Chieftains, Clannad, Salif Keita, Lou Reed, Joe Strummer, Suzanne Vega, Dave Stewart, Peter Gabriel, and many more. AFAIK this CD is now out-of-print.

A masterpiece of western-meets-world music; recorded as an inter-linked set of cameos by a who's-who of stars, it is a musical chain-letter on the theme of global awareness and ecology. Particular high-lights include truly stratospheric vocals (Dave Stewart and the Spiritual Cowboys), Eddie Grant duetting with Johnny Clegg, and the awesome finale from the Kodo drummers and the Leningrad Symphony Orchestra, but there are too many top performances from (then) leaders in the rap, classical, jazz, rock, folk worlds (alongside names from world music that have since become familiar) to mention individually. All-in-all, if you only have one "global" record in your collection, it should be this one.Tracklist:
Such a brilliantly simple idea - a musical chain letter if you will. Each artist adds their own individual stamp and moments of brilliance leap out time after time. For me personally Suzanne Vega, The Chieftains and the Howard Jones/Bob Geldof concoction press all the right buttons, but there is something for everyone on here.
