VA - Early Hot Dance Music From Cuba vol.1 (2006)

In the 1930 and 40s Cuban bands and Orchestras were the toast of Europe, conquering all the fashionable cities were they played. Many of these orchestras contained the cream of Cuban musicians and they recorded regularly.
These recordings would have been released on 78 rpm discs and are nowadays collectors' items. Lucky for us mint copies these 78 rpm discs have now been re-mastered using the latest technology (de-clicking, de–hissing and noise reduction etc) and are presented here in this 3 CD box set.
Several of the top orchestras are represented here, and the quality of the recordings is simply stunning! At times it is hard to believe that these recordings were made over 60 years old
