Postmodern Jukebox's first album of 2019, Sepia Is The New Orange, applies Scott Bradlee's genre twisting arrangements to wide variety of settings: from reimagining the Pinky and The Brain theme song as a Jessica Rabbit torch ballad (complete with the original voice actors from the animated series), to taking Portugal The Man's "Feel It Still" full circle by performing in the style of its melodic forerunner, "Please Mr. Postman." As always, the featured vocalists are stellar and include some notable new debuts, such as David Simmons, Jr., whose soulful, pitch-perfect baritone on a Motown themed "Somewhere Only We Know" is an unexpected treat.
