From the time of the reign of the empress Elizabeth Petrovna a different way of life began to establish itself in Russia, and a different kind of woman, not only aristocratic through birth but also because she belonged to a creative élite: a woman at one and the same time musician, poetess and composer of ballads, who sang and played several instruments […] These 'new' aristocrats adopted European manners, combining them with typically Russian tradition. Der leichten Muse ist diese Aufnahme von Liedern und Kammermusik des ausgehenden 18. Jahrhunderts in russischen Damensalons in St. Petersburg gewidmet. Die Italiener beherrschten den Zeitgeschmack und die Szene - Cimarosa, Galuppi, Paisiello und Sarti. Der in Warschau geborene Józef Kozlowski, ab 1803 Musikdirektor des kaiserlichen Theaters in in St. Petersburg, ist mit einer Cavatina vertreten. Der französische Harfenvirtuose Jean-Baptiste Cardon floh vor der französischen Revolution an den Zarenhof und steuert für diese Aufnahme eine Harfensonate bei, gespielt von der italienischen Harfenistin Mara Galassi. Nennenswerte russische Komponisten weltlicher Musik waren damals wie in früheren Jahrhunderten rar, die tonangebende Oberschicht orientierte sich nach Frankreich und Italien.

Hier erklingt Musik von der zarten Süße einer Mousse au chocolat. Harfe und Cembalo perlen in lieblichsten Schwüngen und Bögen zu Liedtexten wie »Seufze für mich, Wenn du weit entfernt, Und wenn du dich an mich erinnerst, Seufze nochmals, Und weine, wenigstens einmal«. Das russische Ensemble Musica Petrapolitana, gegründet vom Geiger Andrej Rechetin, spielt diese Stücke mit Esprit und Leichtigkeit. Das Ensemble widmet sich vorrangig der Musik seiner Heimatstadt und gründete das Festival Alter Musik in St. Petersburg. Die ukrainische Sängerin Olga Pasichnyk leiht obigen Emotionen kunstvoll ihre makellose Stimme. Sie studierte in Warschau und feierte mit barockem Repertoire und vor allem als Mozartsängerin internationale Erfolge. (Franz Szabo, franzszabo.fastmail.fm)
