Shakuhachi Meditations is the seventh publication of world flute music, Rodrigo Rodriguez. The album comprises eight solo pieces by traditional Japanese flute, the shakuhachi. This new work by strong Eastern influences, is a very simple when compared to the artist's previous albums, where the variety of ethnic instruments and voices accompanying their wind instrument. For this occasion, Rodrigo commitment to simple melodies, deep and relaxing, which are perfect for carrying out spiritual practices and techniques that help transport the mind into a state of absolute peace by facilitating their work as the title for the concepts used by Buddhism as Shinkantaza or Shunyata.
The album consists in 10 improvisations tracks in diferents size shakuhachi. The shakuhachi, pronounced is a Japanese end-blown flute. It is traditionally made of bamboo. It was used by the monks of the Fuke school of Zen Buddhism in the practice of suizen ( blowing meditation).amazon.com
