Playing since early 1998, Retarded are one of the finest Italian bands that find their own spot either in their own country and worldwide. Quick look at the cover sleeves, one would expect cocky Ramones worship from this band. But the music unveils a gruff-yet-sweet band with a Social Distortion-esque edge. They won't win points for originality, but they don't really sound like they care, bashing away at some catchy three-chord anthems with little concern for anything besides rocking. The songs may blur together at times, but fans of poppy punk should find this to be a perfectly acceptable addition to the genre…
