Pirate Folk-Punk | Country: Ukraine

Pint Of Stout - folk punk band formed in may 2011 in Luhansk, Ukraine. During past years took part in dozens of awesome gigs and released a couple badass albums.

Sometimes, there are bands which can really confuse you. Take ‘Pint of Stout’ for example. The name sounds Irish, the sound is possibly even more Irish, and even the vocals sound like a half-drunk Irishman. Great was my surprise when I discovered that this band is from Ukraine. Yeah.

Overcoming my astonishment, I wondered what these Irishme.. Ukrainian could offer. And that’s quite a lot! Awesome pounding and fast folk-punk as we know from bands like Flogging Molly and Dropkick Murphy’s, with a lead role for instruments like flutes, accordion and banjo. Thematically they’re dealing with pirates, so it’s quite obvious this is represented in a musical way as well. This can be heard mostly in the vocals, which are familiar with the raw vocals Alestorm uses.

It’s hard to find any remarks for this record. It all sounds really good, certainly if you take into account that this is just their debut. Do you love pounding folk-punk, or are you just ready to party? You can download this album for free from the facebook-page of the band. Keep a close eye on these guys, because this sounds really promising!
