Paul Diamond Blow is a musician, spoken word artist, a writer and cable televison producer, kung fu master, punk rock star, and part time space commander in Seattle, Washington. He is rocks like no other with his sexy Marshall-driven brand of rocket-fueled hard rockin' glam/punk party rock. Born and raised on a steady diet of Kiss and Ramones, cut his musical teeth rocking in many a punk-rockin' bands (RPA, Suffocated, Berserkers) and his searing style of guitar play soon became legend. His current band the Space Cretins plays regularly in the Seattle area and he also performs occasionally as a solo acoustic "unplugged" artist, deeply in the vein of "Johnny Thunders on acid with a touch of Axl Rose".

The mother of all solo albums is here! Yes, Paul Diamond Blow and his all-star backup band the Ace Diamond Bimbos have delivered the chops with this loud guitar, wang dang power chord Rock! Sizzling leads, monster rock drum beats, party down hard rock anthems! Hard rockin' songs about whiskey and bimbos, bimbos and whiskey! This ain't no grunge…it ain't metal…it ain't punk…It's sweet thunder of rock!

"I didn't know what the hell I was doing," says Blow about his solo effort, "but I had a good time doing it, and as I was recording Wang Dang I felt as if I was possessed by the spirits of all the dead Ramones, as well as the spirit of Ace Frehley even though he isn't dead yet. But Ace was there, I swear it".

This sounds like NY bludgeon rock circa '75 or something. With lyrics like "I get my power from Whiskey Sour", I tend to think of the awesome talents of Handsome Dick Manitoba…

Luv Juice & Atomic Rock can be considered Paul Diamond Blow's "greatest hits" album of sorts, as it includes re-mastered cuts from Wang Dang Sweet Thunder of Rock!, cuts recorded with his band The Ace Diamond Bimbos, never-before-heard tracks recorded at Blow's private studio, and also includes PDB's very "best of the best, most personal favorite and most all-time requested" acoustic songs. As an even extra special bonus, included also is "Diamond Boogie" – the best, and only disco roller-boogie song Paul Diamond Blow has ever recorded and released, and as Blow puts it, "Probably the best song I ever wrote". And here it is all included in one master CD. The hard-rocking electric tunes, that's the Atomic Rock. The acoustic songs and the disco tune… that's the Luv Juice. The first CD release by the Space Cretins, "Rocket Roll" features ten sizzling high-octane punk/glam shock tunes with a heavy dose of super-cyber, high-flying punk'rock'n'roll with a neon kick for the good times, with a sound that owes as much to Kiss, the Misfits, and the Ramones as it does to the original Space Commanders Ziggy Stardust & the Spiders From Mars. A sound that takes the energy of punk, the snottiness of glam, and the groove of 80's L.A. sleaze rock, which when combined gives you… spaced out, mega-freakin', high-octane, righteous rock. Glam Punk Rock at its finest!

This is an amazing album. Seldom do I feel like I just did blow off a hooker's ass while she pays me for the ride of her life. Now come on, that is a ski trip worth attending! That in a nutshell, is ROCKET ROLL, a 10-song salute to the religion of excess. This release is the latest and greatest installment by the Space Cretins in their quest to spread all the filth they can muster. Each song is packed with a ferocity that demands a second listen. Should the album have a few more solos? Of course! But come on—who can play a solo when you are nearly blacked out drunk and the only thing on your mind is that prayer that we all have that the "‘three girls in the audience really are legal, cuz God knows they’re willing?" And to be honest, who fucking wants a solo when Paul Diamond Blow (guitar/vox), Starkiss Karkass (bass/vox) and Danger Dayne (drums) come to melt your face? This is one of the best albums I have heard in awhile and has not left my car for about a month. It was the soundtrack to a traffic violation and a particularly amazing drinking binge I went on. If you want to hear something truly amazing, get this CD.

Contains the high-energy punkrock'n'roll blasters the Space Cretins have become known for (Rockets On, Plastic, Future Hoppin') as well as mid-tempo straight ahead rockers (Straight to the Edge, Let's Get Spaced Out) and of course no Space Cretins album would be complete without a glam-rockin' power ballad (Alien Eyes). Therewith, album was recorded, mixed, and mastered in late 2008 by legendary grunge producer/musician Jack Endino!

Heck, who'd think it but 'spiritual home of grunge' Seattle does have a glam underground, and the three dudes who call themselves Space Cretins seem to be responsible for keeping it alive all these years, boasting time served in a whole host of bands with names that wouldn'ta have got them anywhere but the deepest recesses of the underground, for instance Ace Diamond Bimbos, Northwest Breeders, the Suffocated, and the Berserkers. In their latest outfit Paul Diamond Blow, Danger Dayne Bam Bam and Markass Karkass surf the outer limits of the absurd, manning the glam space station Bowie blasted into orbit when he started looking to the skies for inspiration, and taking the Ramones and skewy L.A.sleaze of the Space Afe Playboys for driving songs of choice on their voyage. I'm not sure if I believe their story that the concept for the band was born following a chance encounter with Willaim Shatner in a Hong Kong kareoke bar, but it's not implausible in light of Tokyo Trash like 'Plastic', surreal, hallucininogen induced stoner sleaze 'Let's Get Spaced Out', or the darn right silly 'Merry Christmas, Baby'. Not about to offer any startly insights, or indeed challenge the intellect in any way, but sure to bring a smile to the faces of big kids who never outgrew the thrill of neon Nick 'toons and e-number rich, chemically reactive candy.
