Teresa Salgueiro is a Portuguese singer. She is widely known as the lead singer of Madredeus, a Portuguese band, from 1987 until now.

As a young girl, Teresa Salgueiro sang Fados and Brazilian bossa novas in taverns of Lisbon.

She met guitarist and producer Pedro Ayres Magalhães in 1987 and formed Madredeus together with Francisco Ribeiro on cello, Gabriel Gomes on accordion and Rodrigo Leão on keyboards. The band performed all over the world and made many albums. Although some members of the band left and others came during its history; Pedro Ayres Magalhães and Teresa Salgueiro remained as cornerstones of Madredeus.

Teresa Salgueiro also played a leading role in the 1994 Wim Wenders Lisbon Story (Viagem a Lisboa) movie.
