The winner of the jazz echoes logs after the acclaimed "Failure In Wonderland" (ENJA) in 2016 with a new big band album back. Under the influence of the harsh sun of southern Germany, the nine pieces were recorded on "Of Monsters and Birds" in the summer of 2015 in the legendary Bauer Studios. Composer, guitarist, singer and bandleader Monika Roscher and its 17 musicians dare thereby even further into uncharted musical territory where blæserne birdsongs be discharged in hypnotic Trommeldelirium ( "Full Moon Theatre"), New Orleans'scher bombast and blast beats best friends are ( »terror Tango") and diaphanous singing elegies and orchestral pathos mutually insane rock ( "illusion").

Already on the previous album fired musical spirit of discovery and experimentation, the wildly beating heart of Monika Roscher Bigband. In "Of Monsters and Birds", the band put on these fronts still going back, but added the self-confidence and blind understanding of a proven at numerous concerts live band, as well as the hard to hearing new desire Groove: musical expeditions between jazz, rock and polyrhythms have never been so danceable.
