Max Ionata celebrates the decennial one of career with new egg whites from leader, for l' exactly entitled Ten, to the guide of a quartet completed from musicians of absolute levatura, like Luca Mannutza, Nicholas Angelucci, Nicholas Muresu and l' Fabrizio host Boxwood. L' egg whites, dedicated to the memory of Low Gianni, are made up of eight pieces - all originate them except " Who Can the Turn To" signed Bricusse-Newley - that they cover the customary ones, but always fascinose, lines of the newones, characterized dall' alternation of the single ones, great cohesion between the interpreters and swing to sell.
Elegant topics (" Astobard, " but also " Coltrane Meet Evans") that they are ollowed in a kind of body only, where the sax of the leader seems less disposed of the usual to show the muscles, but voglioso inanellare chorus solitary that turn around the kernel of the issue, without - voluntarily - hurting in depth. Also Boxwood, usually ready to the burning releases, gives l' impression to more cover tangents levigate of the usual, mielose and charges of formal beauty. The two pieces signed from Ionata, " The Talpa" and " Praise 4 Joe, " they do not go away very from the rest of the program, in egg whites played with extreme precision, from nocturnal, precious atmospheres, to listen to eyes sluices like, perhaps, anticipated dall' cover image.
Max Ionata celebra il decennale di carriera con un nuovo album da leader, per l'appunto intitolato Dieci, alla guida di un quartetto completato da musicisti di assoluta levatura, come Luca Mannutza, Nicola Angelucci, Nicola Muresu e l'ospite Fabrizio Bosso.
L'album, dedicato alla memoria di Gianni Basso, si compone di otto brani - tutti originali tranne "Who Can I Turn To" firmata Bricusse-Newley - che percorrono le consuete, ma sempre fascinose, linee del neo-bop, caratterizzate dall'alternanza dei soli, grande coesione tra gli interpreti e swing da vendere. Temi eleganti ("Astobard," ma anche "Coltrane Meet Evans") che si susseguono in una sorta di corpo unico, dove il sax del leader sembra meno intenzionato del solito a mostrare i muscoli, ma voglioso di inanellare chorus solitari che girano intorno al nocciolo delle questione, senza - volontariamente - ferire in profondit…. Anche Bosso, solitamente pronto agli scatti brucianti, d… l'impressione di percorrere tangenti pi— levigate del solito, mielose e cariche di bellezza formale.
I due brani firmati da Ionata, "La Talpa" e "Lode 4 Joe," non si allontanano molto dal resto del programma, in un album suonato con estrema precisione, dalle atmosfere notturne, preziose, da ascoltare ad occhi chiusi come, forse, anticipato dall'immagine di copertina.
