Steve Grossman plays only with the best musicians. First he replaced Wayne Shorter Miles Davis and his jazz-fusion band. The collaboration was documented impressively on six shots. This was followed by years in the band of Elvin Jones. And now is the Martin Sasse Trio's turn. Steve is just simply always better.
The Martin Sasse Trio has played in the past decade, not only with a "Who's Who" of European jazz (including Ferdinand Povel, Philippe Catherine, Dusko Goykovich); It has also toured with a variety of American soloists such as Dick Oatts, Peter Bernstein, Vincent Herring and Scott Hamilton and recorded.
This CD presents jazz at the highest level, purist reduced to its substance: swing. Improvisation. Expression.
