José Miguel Moreno is a Spanish specialist of historical plucked string instruments, such as the vihuela, lute, theorbo, and guitars. In 1977 he won the First Prize of the Incontri Chitarristici di Garnano (Italy 1977) and later many awards for his recordings. He has undertaken recordings and live concerts with the renowned ensemble "Hesperion XX" and Jordi Savall as well as with his own formations LA ROMANESCA and ORPHÉNICA LYRA. He is also co-founder of the classical music label Glossa.

"It was my intention, with this selection of pieces, to elevate and thrill to the point of provoking in the listener that miniature revolution which accompanies me when, from the pureste engagement with freedom, I fell myself to be the protagonist of the result of each one of my projects. Commuting this words from one time to all times, preserving their power of rupture and innovation, and accepting the chalenge which confronts me during each night of solitary work, I reach the essence of my performances through the philosophy which once inspired me to found Glossa: the freedom to create our own limits."
