Kun-Woo Paik - Bach/Busoni: Piano Transcriptions (2001)
Born in Seoul, Kun Woo Paik gave his debut at the age of 10 with the Korean National Orchestra. At the age of 15 he moved to New York to study at the Julliard School and following wins at both the Naumburg and the Busoni Competitions he went on to give significant debuts at the Lincoln Centre and Carnegie Hall launching his international career.
His repertoire is extensive and incorporates a wide range of styles and genres. An artist with a quiet intellect which straddles the cultures of east and west, Mr Paik often successfully combines conventional repertoire with the more unusual, and has also been invited to give many significant musical debuts.
Kun Woo now lives in Paris and is the Artistic Director of the Emerald Coast Music Festival in Dinard France. He was made the Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Government in 2000
