Frederik Köster & Sebastian Sternal - Canada (2015)

They both belong to the most distinguished musicians and composers of the current German jazz scene, have received many awards, among other things, with jazz echoes, and playing for ten years in changing formations together: Frederik Köster, born in 1977, and Sebastian Sternal, born in 1983. But so intimate, as in their first duo album "Canada", the musicians were together never to hear. Their mostly own and - with two exceptions - specifically written for this album compositions, but even more so her subtle, often lyrical, sometimes energetic interaction are unmistakably inspired by Location: Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada. Trigger for the chamber music-subtle production was Thilo Schaller, an acquaintance Kösters and professor of audio engineering at the University of Lethbridge. Who had invited the jazz musicians to take something with him. So a concept album in the traditional sense, that is was a homogeneous disk, which you can unerringly pull in a certain mood from the shelf. The expressiveness of the two musical personalities ensures that their behavior to pointedly shimmering radiant tones develop its own aura and compelling intensity.
