Primarily recognized today as the composer of the Canon in D, Johann Pachelbel was known to his contemporaries as an accomplished organist and teacher. An International Bach Competition winner in 1963, Jozef Sluys brings masterful restraint to these resonant yet introspective compositions for church services. The 18 selections include Pachelbel's Prelude in D Minor, Toccata in F Major, Fantasia in G Minor, Magnificat, and the chorale, Wir glauben all' an einen Gott.
