John Foxx (born in Chorley, Lancashire, is the stage name of English musician Dennis Leigh. He was the original lead singer of the band Ultravox!, before embarking on a solo career in 1979. Primarily associated with electronic synthesizer music, he has also pursued a parallel career in graphic design and education.
Robin Guthrie (born 4 January 1962, Grangemouth, Stirlingshire, Scotland) is a musician best known as co-founder of the Cocteau Twins. During his career Guthrie has played guitar, bass guitar, keyboards, drums and other musical instruments, in addition to programming, sampling and sound processing. Guthrie also works extensively as a producer and engineer.
John Foxx & Robin Guthrie's collaboration was an idea that began when the pair performed at a Harold Budd concert in May 2005. Layers of echoes and reverberations are explored on Mirrorball, so that Guthrie's
unique playing merges with abstract, often improvised vocals courtesy of Foxx.
