    Singer-guitarist and leader of the Danish band DAD, Jesper Binzer has released with his band a number of albums, some of which ("No Fuel Left For The Pilgrims" and "Riskin 'It All" in mind) have become the classic of hard rock. More than thirty years after the beginnings of the training, and thanks to the "creative" break (because?) Taken by DAD, the man with the always long hair (reference to the song "I Will not Cut My Hair" and also the title of his autobiography), takes the opportunity to release his first solo album entitled "Dying Is Easy" and comes out without drums or trumpets at Warner Music Denmark.

    With a distinctive and recognizable voice, we are happy to hear it, hoarse and rocky, on the immediate '' The Future Is Now '', which would not mismatch on a DAD album as it contains similarities with Training. The next title, '' Dying Is Easy '', was chosen as a single and traces in the furrow of the first piece of this record. With '' Rock On Rock On Rock '', a welcome piano and an acoustic guitar make their arrival and the song is nonchalant in rhythm. The influence of guitarist Jacob Binzer, brother of Jesper who also plays in D-A-D, is heard in the sounds of '' Planet Blue '', rather melancholic piece. The Dane knows how to compose catchy and melodic songs and applies the recipe to '' Saint Fantasia '', not the most outstanding piece of this album but with undeniable sympathy capital. A little bluette with the poetic "The Bumpy Road" ("[life] is a bumpy road if you do not have love"), piano and acoustic being put forward to walk along. It is worth noting that the man who has been in his fifties writes texts that are more and more elaborate and mature, even full of wisdom. The songs with acoustic tendency intervene with regular spaces since the beginning and one has in 8th track "Real Love", a beautiful ballad or Jesper explain to want to find the true love. Whether he found it or not (we wish him of course), he sings with sincerity and makes us adhere to the message (who would not agree anyway?).
    Back to hard rock that we left after the first two songs on the percussive '' The Space She's In '' with sharp guitars and whose verse has an amazing riff in its rhythm but which works at the top. Delicate and intimate, "I See It In You" is again appealing to our sensitivity and is a beautiful statement in his words. Choosing to close the album with a cover, Jesper chose to tackle a song from the Danish band THE SAVAGE ROSE, '' Wild Child '', whose original version was released in 1973 and is one of their classics sung by the sublime voice of the singer Annisette Hansen. In other words, he was attacking something delicate to take back. The result is extremely convincing, although Jesper does not have the purity of a female voice like Annette when she goes up in the lead during the chorus. But he manages to infuse a dose of rage and sincerity into his interpretation while retaining his style and character. There are few "intelligent" covers (by that I mean a rare or unknown piece of an artist or old enough to arouse an interest in the listener), and this is undeniably part of it. The production of this record serves well all and we have a full, warm and reminiscent of that of … D-A-D.

    Although it is difficult for Jesper Binzer to stand out from DAD in style and writing and this is one of the criticisms that can be made against this record, we can not say that the we are not happy to hear his voice again (waiting for the group's return!) on this album which without being uneven, lack of peps and big rock songs (3 out of 11 is not enough). Maybe he did not want to get too close to the standards used at D-A-D? The big complaint is to address his record company who did not deign to promote and it is by pure chance that we came across the release of this album (thank you single!) And we Congratulations. This "Dying Is Easy" allows the end to wait quietly waiting for the return of Disneyland After Dark (D-A-D) and it's already not so bad. ~ HARD-FORCE
