Grand Tour hail from Glascow, Scotland and we shouldn't accuse anyone if talking about them as being COMEDY OF ERRORS in disguise, with all members having served or still serving the nearby Neo Prog veterans. The band was formed in 2005 by Abel Ganz'es Hew Montgomery, at a time he was feeling the Ganzes; new direction was not his preference and wanted to start a new project, of which he would have full responsibilty.
He joined forces with local guitarist Andrew Young and the two were joined in 2007 by Comedy of Errors' former frontman Joe Cairney, who had been inactive for a long time. The following year Young brought along drummer Bruce Levick, whom he met through the internet. The band's first few serious compositions started to surface, but in 2010 Young left Grand Tour and was replaced by Mark Spalding, another veteran of the Comedy of Errors family. In the meantime both Levick and Montgomery had joined CoE, apparently both projects are running in parallel lines since 2010. In 2015 the band produced the first work ''Heavy on the Beach'', no wonder, if you love CoE and classic British Neo Prog, then Grand Tour should be a must-have for your collection.
