Glennis Houston - I'll Reminisce You (2014)

This CD has taken FOREVER to do! It was 2005 when I first started thinking about doing a follow up album to Lies of Handsome Men! It’s now 2013 – a full decade since the first CD was recorded – and it’s finally ready. What a procedure! Part of the delay was due to my hesitation to release an album of all, or mostly, covers. I struggled with what I wanted to say, and how I wanted to say it. Ultimately, I felt it was important that I include more of my original material, and some of it still had to be created, or changed,…or maybe I had to start believing in it more. Oh, and perhaps it had something to do with going off to start my PhD in music…hmmmm! Whatever the multitude of reasons, I’m glad that I’ve finally done it.

This recording was done over a couple of days in May 2013. The first day included a “live recording,” where we recorded in the round so that I could see the band while I stood at the microphone, and the audience was seated beside and behind me so they could feel like part of the process. Some of those live tracks ended up with a wonderful feel and groove, so they are included here. We returned to the studio for the second day and recorded all of the tracks live off the floor again, and those takes comprise the rest of the CD.
