Filip Augustson - Viva Black (2015)

After 11 years, now second album under his own name from one of Sweden's foremost jazz bassists Filip Augustson. Lixom at the onset, we find Viva Blackpool, song inspired by music from the area around Ituri. At the onset of Moserobie label where Ituri feels metallic also dominated by the blow, this Viva Blackpool dominated by a bow also has a more drab feeling - yes a bit like walking in a pine forest where the land is filled with pine cones also, where in the distance can imagine a small sparkling lakes …
Ituri is oxå the only one who has followed from the onset. On the low-key also easily melancholy Viva Blackpool, published on Found You Recordings, we find among the drums Christopher Cantillo and Chamber Ensemble-violinist Eva Lindal.
The most interesting among these 10 chamber jazz improvisations, I find Repetitivo Acrimasa. It's like Augustsson's base is like an open fire, we gathered around down by the aforementioned lake.
