The album includes 8 musical pieces composed by Suleiman in search of a new musical relation between the Piano and Eastern music with touching elements from Western music including Jazz and Rock. Part of the musical pieces have been introduced to the audience but never been recorded, and were recomposed based on the new album musical genre.
The album collects pictures and stories, and the city is in their center; from the city that been destroyed in the war, to the city that witnesses the budding romance of a couple strolling through its streets. The music on the album embodies what the city imparts of cruelty and exile, of intimacy and personal spaces despite the bustle.
The Palestinian musician announced the release on 22.0.2.2017 of his new album under the title “Once Upon a City,” accompanied by the musicians Habib Shehadeh Hanna (Oud), Rami Nakhleh (Drums) and Shady Awidat (Bass Guitar).
