Ron - Le voci del mondo (2004)

Certi incontri nella vita hanno il potere di segnarti e cambiarti irrimediabilmente. Può accadere con persone, situazioni, luoghi. E può accadere anche con un libro, com’è capitato a Ron: l’incontro fortuito, avvenuto nel momento opportuno, con un romanzo dal suggestivo titolo di Le voci dal mondo(Einaudi, 1994) è stato fonte d’ispirazione, prima di un cambiamento interiore, e poi di un omonimo concept album, nuovo lavoro di studio del cantautore, che racconta in nove canzoni il cammino spirituale del fragile e talentuoso musicista Elias-Ron.
Partendo dal romanzo di Robert Schneider, Ron ha infatti scritto dei brani ispirati agli episodi salienti della storia nelle quali, in realtà, le vicende del protagonista scivolano dolcemente sullo sfondo e diventano per il cantante il pretesto per indagare il proprio animo e le proprie corde più profonde.
Non aspettatevi, tuttavia, di trovarvi al cospetto di un album di canzoni italiane: a livello di scelte artistiche (curate dallo stesso Ron e da Maurizio Parafioriti), Le voci del mondo guarda decisamente Oltremanica.
D’altronde Ron non ha mai nascosto la sua passione per un certo rock inglese (dal glam rock di David Bowie fino a quello degli Oasis, passando per le atmosfere dilatate di Radiohead e Coldplay) e in questo disco si è preso la libertà di seguire il proprio estro e il proprio gusto, provando la sua attitudine cantautorale su forme e sonorità brit.
Tra aperture e chiusure melodiche, pieni e vuoti e uso degli incisi che citano i Coldplay di Politik e Yellow (Il profondo dell’azzurro del mondo e Non ti credo più), chitarre e archi (Lisa) in stile Verve e Oasis (archi non a caso incisi negli Abbey Road Studio’s di Londra ed eseguiti dalla London Chamber Orchestra ltd), la tracklist propone nove canzoni registrate in presa diretta che parlano d’amore, d’amicizia, di spiritualità.
Da ascoltare le ballate del disco Lisa, Ma quando dici amore in cui riaffiora la vena più romantica e poetica di Ron; Non ti credo più e Caro amico fragile (primo singolo estratto dal disco) più rock e “sporche”, che ci mostrano un volto ancora forse poco conosciuto dell’artista: quello più arrabbiato e duro.
Fra i collaboratori dell’album, oltre al paroliere Cheope con cui Ron ha scritto le canzoni del disco, spicca quel Geoff Westley, produttore e arrangiatore già al fianco di Renato Zero (vedi la recensione di Cattura), che ha curato le partiture degli archi.
“Faccio musica così, non ho obblighi precisi né una sola regola senza più sentirmi in colpa con le cose che farò”, canta Ron in Vivo e gli auguriamo di poterle continuare a fare così.Di rottura

certain encounters in life have the power to write down and changed forever. It can happen with people, situations and places. It can also happen with a book, as happened to Ron: the chance encounter, which took place at the right time, with the suggestive title of a novel items from the world (Einaudi, 1994) was an inspiration before an inner change, and then a concept album of the same name, new studio work of the singer, telling nine songs in the spiritual life of the fragile and talented musician Elias-Ron.
Based on the novel by Robert Schneider, Ron has in fact written songs inspired by the most salient events of history in which, in reality, the events of the protagonist roll gently in the background and become the pretext for the singer to explore their feelings and their chords deep.
Do not expect, however, is the presence of an album of Italian songs: a level of artistic choices (edited by the same Ron and Maureen Parafioriti), Voices of the world looks far across the Channel.
Besides, Ron has never hidden his passion for a certain British rock (glam rock of David Bowie to that of Oasis, passing through the dilated atmospheres of Radiohead and Coldplay) and this record has taken the liberty to follow your talent and your taste, demonstrating its ability to shape and tone Brit singer-songwriter.
Between opening and closing melody, full and empty and use of incised mentioning Coldplay's Yellow and Politik (The deep of blue in the world and not believe you anymore), guitars and strings (Lisa) Art Verve and Oasis (arcs Random engraved at Abbey Road Studio's in London and conducted by the London Chamber Orchestra ltd), the tracklist is proposing nine songs recorded live to talk about love, friendship and spirituality.
From listening to the ballads of the disc Lisa, but when you say you love that emerges the most romantic and poetic vein of Ron, I do not believe the most fragile and dear friend (the first single from the disc) more rock and dirty, we show perhaps the artist's face still little known: the most angry and hard.
Among the collaborators of the album, as well as the lyricist Cheops which Ron wrote the songs on the album, that stands out Geoff Westley, producer and arranger already alongside Renato Zero (see review of Capture), who worked on the scores of the arcs .
