Mario Biondi & The Unexpected Glimpses Due (2011)

Mario Biondi in occasione dello scambio di cortesie avuto con il collega cantautore Morgan, ha pubblicato pochi giorni fa un doppio album di inediti dal titolo Due. L’album include una serie di interessanti duetti con diversi nomi ancora poco conosciuti del panorama musicale internazionale. L’esigenza dell’artista catanese – della quale questo doppio album è il frutto – è proprio quella di accogliere le numerose richieste di collaborazione che in questi ultimi anni gli sono pervenute, trasformandole in grandi occasioni per tutti quei talenti che fino ad oggi sono rimasti ingiustamente nell’ombra.


Hanno duettato con Mario Biondi: Jeff Cascaro in una cover di Irvin Berlin, "Blue Skies"; il giovane Walter Ricci che interpreta "The door is still open to my heart", brano dei The Cardinals; Stevie Biondi, fratellino minore solo d'anagrafe che debutta in "More than you could ever know"; Giordano Gambogi, che è anche co-autore con Biondi dell'inedito "Dreaming"; Alain Clark che lo accompagna in "All you have to do"; Andrea Satomi Bertorelli che duetta con lui in "What's happening brother" di Marvin Gaye; l'israeliano Sagi Rei, che scrive e duetta nell'inedito "Won't you come back" e il cantautore, Fabrizio Casalino, comico e imitatore di Biondi, in "Finale in dissolvenza".

Le voci femminili, autografo di un grande disco, quasi predestinato sono quelle dell'artista americana Wendy Lewis in "Life is Everything"; Samantha Iorio che duetta con Biondi nella cover del brano di Deniece Williams, "Free"; Chiara Civello che interpreta l'inedito "All I really want"; Vahimiti che duetta con Mario in "Do you want me to stay" e la pop star danese Hanne Boel in "Funny how time slips away" di Al Green.

Italian jazz-soul vocalist Mario Biondi was born of artistic stock in the Sicilian city of Catania. His great grandfather was a respected painter, his grandmother a singer, and his father a popular songwriter. Biondi sang throughout his childhood, first performing in public at age 12 in church, and soon singing in public squares before hundreds of people. From there he competed in the Festival della Canzone Siciliana, taking third place. Biondi's musical pursuits earned him the opportunity to perform…
