Band Info:
Die Schnitter sind eine Band aus Kassel, die deutschsprachigen Folk-Punk spielt. Sie gilt als prägend für deutschsprachige Musik dieses Genres. Neben Eigenkompositionen interpretieren Die Schnitter traditionelle deutsche Volks- und Widerstandslieder aus Bauernkrieg, Weberaufstand und Vormärz. Die Band wurde im Jahr 1996 gegründet und war seitdem in ständig wechselnder Besetzung auf Tour. 2007 kündigte die Band an, das Projekt aus Zeitgründen vorerst nicht weiter zu verfolgen.
