Cubismo & Jazz Orkestar HRT-a - Tumbao (2020)

The band, which has been bringing dance rhythms to the local audience for 25 years, has prepared a real musical treat. In the year when they celebrate a quarter of a century of existence, they released a new album "Tumbao", which was created in collaboration with the Jazz Orchestra of HRT.

The announcing single "Lijepa si danas", a collaboration with the Pula group Nola, won the hearts of the audience and quickly took over the radio airwaves, and the rest of the album embodies equally contagious positive energy and good vibes that have become synonymous with Cubism music over the last quarter.

The collaboration with the HRT Jazz Orchestra "pulled out" the best of both bands by merging the powerful rhythm section of Cubism and the strong wind section of the HRT Jazz Orchestra.

The new album is coming out after a ten-year discography break by Cubism, so you can feel all the strength, emotions and ideas gathered during that period when the band focused more on live performances.

There are ten songs on the album, and as many as seven of them are signed by the famous seven, members of Cubism (Ricardo Luque - lead vocals, Davor Križić - trumpet, Nenad Grahovac - trombone, vocals, Mario Igrec - guitar, Mario Penton Hernandez - piano, vocals, Krešimir Tomec - bass guitar, Zdravko "Barba" Tabain - drums, timbales, Mladen Ilić - bongos, Hrvoje Rupčić - congas, vocals). One composition was written by maestro Miron Hauser, and one is signed by Marijan Jelenić from Nola, with whom they collaborated on the album.

The last song on the album is a remake of Gibonni’s Tempera released 20 years after the first version on the Motivo Cubano album.
