This was the perfect setting during his later years. The trumpeter (who also sings on two of the six songs) sounds very relaxed and comfortable while accompanied by the duo of guitarist Doug Raney and bassist Niels Pedersen, taking some consistently lyrical solos on the six standards.
Chet Baker is the ultimate in Flugelhorn and trumpet this is an outstanding album worth twice as much as they ask. Great jazz if you like cool jazz buy it! Very romantic music. I love all of the tracks and I know they want too much for it but I am very pleased. I knew guys who studied with Jimmy Rainy in Ky. And Doug his son is his copy really great guitar and horn.
