Charles Absher - This Garden Of Sunshine And Rain (2018)

Charles took up the guitar in early high school. He quickly became part of a high school bluegrass group, switching eventually from guitar to string bass, and from there to a Fender bass. The Bluegrass Band was the Lick Skillet band at Six Flags Over Georgia for four years, with one of those years in the show at the Crystal Pistol. After that, he attempted a career in music playing with, along the way, The Bluegrass Generation, Corporate Square, The New Deal String Band, a brief stint with the Bluegrass Alliance, Betty Fisher and the Dixie Bluegrass Boys, and finishing with Saturday Session. However, the music didn't pay the bills very well, so he dropped out of music, married, began a family, went back to college, and became a civil engineer, a "Ramblin' Wreck".

The years in college while working and raising a family didn't leave much time for music; for approximately 10 years he rarely played his guitar. While in his forties, he began again to play the guitar regularly, and slowly began to relearn his early original material. He has a small library of songs written since high school and he continues to write today. His music generally tells a story, with recognizable melodies and heart felt lyrics. He enjoys playing and writing as a creative release, a hobby that takes him away from the everyday stress of his engineering profession. We hope you enjoy the musical offerings presented here.
