    A*Teens (también conocidos como ABBA Teens) fue un grupo pop sueco juvenil de Estocolmo, Suecia, formado en 1998 y disuelto a finales de 2004. Su carrera despegó como un grupo de versiones de ABBA, pero luego pasaron a cantar temas inéditos. Con 5 discos lanzados entre 1999 y el 2004, siendo el último una compilación de sus éxitos.

    En el mes de noviembre de 1998 Marie, Sara, Dhani y Amit comenzaron a grabar lo que sería su álbum debut, The ABBA Generation, el cual consiste completamente de versiones de éxitos del grupo pop de los 70s. Finalmente salió al mercado escandinavo en mayo de 1999, imponiendo éxitos como Mamma Mia, Super Trouper, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (a man after midnight) y Dancing Queen. El disco estuvo en el número 1 del ranking sueco y sonó insistentemente en varios países.

    The ABBA Generation is the first A*Teens album. It is a modern and upbeat cover album, consisting of 11 well-known ABBA songs.

    Recorded in Sweden in early 1999, was released later that year internationally and in 2000 in the United States. It spawned 4 hit singles, including the Swedish number-one "Mamma Mia".

    The album was certified Platinum or Gold in 22 different territories around the world, going on to sell almost 4 million copies.[2] The album was a moderate success in Japan, where it peaked at number eighteen, selling 61,810 copies. The ABBA Generation generated the best reviews from the band's career. Different covers and versions of the album were released around the world, in the process the A*Teens recorded two tracks in Spanish, "Mamma Mia" and "Gimme! Gimme! Gimme!" for the Latin American market.
