In 1980, Al Jarreau has done the best album of his career. Not many songs were popular on this album with the exception of 'Spain' & 'Never Giving Up'. And it is a pity, because this album as a whole is very nice, beautiful & uplifting. I first heard this album when I was in the 4th grade and the most memorable song that stays in my head, because it's so beautiful, is/was 'Alonzo'. Shame the song wasn't a success in the limelight. Like Michael Franks, Al Jarreau is a powerful jazz vocalist with creative lyrical skill (both are under Warner Bros.) & Jarreau has done an excellent job with this album. It is an essential and a must-have!
