Christoph Eschenbach and Ray Chen - Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart: Violin Concertos and Sonata (2014)

Sony Classical is pleased to announce the new album from acclaimed violinist Ray Chen – a recording fully dedicated to works by Mozart. The album includes Mozart’s Violin Concertos K216 in G Major and K218 in D Major, for which Ray Chen composed his own cadenzas, plus Violin Sonata K305 in A Major. Ray Chen is joined by the internationally renowned interpreter of Mozart’s works Christoph Eschenbach, who not only conducts the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestra in the concertos, but also performs with Ray Chen on the piano for the sonata. Principal conductor of the Schleswig-Holstein Festival Orchestral Academy since 2004, Maestro Eschenbach introduced Ray Chen to the Festival last summer. The Orchestra, founded by Leonard Bernstein in 1987, is formed from exceptional young musicians who come together for the yearly music festival in northern Germany.
