Produced by Tony Doogan (Mogwai, Belle & Sebastien), In the Land Of is Wintersleep's seventh studio album, and maintains the momentum seen on their last release The Great Detachment (2016), as one of Canada's finest bands.

Seeing a return to form since their 2007 release with Welcome to the Night Sky, and the anthemic success of that lead single "Weighty Ghost," the critical praise throughout the course of The Great Detachment campaign included nominations for the 2017 JUNO Award for Adult Alternative Album of the Year, the Polaris Prize, the Prism Prize, and favourable press from Rolling Stone, The Toronto Star, Q, Wallstreet Journal, Exclaim! and more.
